The Bob and Betty Cheat

If you have played the tutorial, you will know that Bob and
Betty's motives don't move much, if at all.
|
So when Betty appears, ignore the tutorial for a while, and
build up Bob and Betty's skills.
|
They won't need to eat, but they will lose energy on the
exercise machine and at work. Buy the expresso machine
and use that five or six times a day instead of sleeping.
|
When the Newbies' skills are maxed out get them jobs
and leave the game on ultra speed overnight. In the
morning the Newbies' will be stinking rich!
|
When they are rich complete the tutorial and make friends
for the Newbies.
|
You can now get the Newbies married to different people
in the neighbourhood.
|
Use the Newbie in the new household as the worker of the
house, and get the other Sim to make friends and clean
the house.
|
|
The Big box method
|
Save a lot of money by not building interior walls. They are
necessary for bathroom privacy and to muffle the phone so
build a 2x2 for the bathroom and shower, and a 1x1 for the
phone.
|
|
Keep things manageable
|
If you are starting out then a successful family has just
two adults. One with high Outgoing and nice traits, to
make friends and stay at home cooking and cleaning.
|
Send the other Sim to work. The family friend requirement
is easy to meet this way so promotion is no problem.
|
|
Stay at home Sims
|
Stay at home Sims should get up an hour or two before
the working Sim and serve a group meal.
|
This way the working Sim doesn't have to waste time
preparing food and has time to build skills etc.
|
Stay at home Sims should spend time building their
Cooking and Mechanical skills so there is less chance of
a fire when they are cooking, and there is less chance of
electricution when they are fixing appliances.
|
Also they produce more filling meals and don't have to pay
for the repairman.
|
|
Marriage
|
When you marry the last Sim in each household you get
all their money. So make a few one person familys and
move them out into the neighbourhood. Get one of them to
marry all of the others and you get a nice sum of money to
build and furnish a house with.
|
You can always kill off some of the Sims so there is only
two or three left or even kill every Sim but one off and do
the process again.
